MINI SKIRT - MARY QUANT

During the 1960s, designer Mary Quant left behind the conservationism of the previous years to revolutionize the fashion world with the miniskirt, pushing the frontiers of fashion towards the expression of freedom and optimism for the youth.

NEW LOOK - CHRISTIAN DIOR

Christian Dior launches in 1947 the New Look, a figure that emphasizes large skirts, close-fitting bodies and small waists. After years of war and economic deprivation, Dior brought back the desire for glamour and femininity with his "flower woman" design.

SMOKING FOR WOMEN - YVES SAINT LAURENT

During the 1960s, designer Yves Saint Laurent introduced the first smoking or two-piece for women, proposing it as an alternative to a dress for women to wear at events. It was quite an innovative move that surprised his regular clients, with few of them daring to wear it at the beginning.
